The Banderas Bay International Regatta already has 58 registered vessels

• Riviera Nayarit continues to attract nautical tourism due to its extraordinary conditions and its world-class infrastructure. Proof of this is the success of yearly competitions that focus on social interaction for lovers of this sport

Riviera Nayarit is a privileged destination for lovers of nautical sports and for tourism associated with maritime activity. The Banderas Bay International Regatta has been taking place here for 19 years, and is one of the longest-standing competitions in the country for sailing enthusiasts, as its main objective is for participants to have fun.

This 2011 is no exception, and 58 vessels from different classes have already registered. This means two competitors more than last year, even though back then we had the euphoria of the Nautical Extravaganza, which brought 12 competitions related to nautical sports to our destination. But this isn’t all, as registrations will remain open until next Tuesday 8, and more ships are bound to enroll.

The Banderas Bay International Regatta will take place on March 8 – 12 at the Vallarta Yacht Club (VYC) of Marina Paradise Village in Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit. This competition is open for all categories and has become one of the staple events of the Vallarta Yacht Club by having the objective of promoting interaction between sailing lovers.

The mild climate and winds of March in a sheltered bay make the coast of Riviera Nayarit the ideal venue for sailing competitions. Year after year, the Vallarta Yacht Club has hosted international regattas, and will once again host this race.

A singular inaugural parade will be enjoyed on Thursday March 10 at 11:30 am, as the crews start to board their boats. The event will be enjoyed from the Paradise Village Marina facilities, and from the public entrance to the Nuevo Vallarta South beach.
