JAMURCA, MYTHIC PLACE WHERE THE HUICHOLES USED TO PURIFY THEMSELVES
Located between the mountains and surrounded by lush vegetation there is a place where Shamans known as “marakames” of the huichol indigenous culture used to gather and purify their bodies and spirits by submerging themselves in hot water thermal springs. Jamurca is this place. , has natural thermal water spring that attracts many tourists.
Nowadays these mystic thermal springs are complemented by an adult pool, a kid’s pool, bathroom facilities, palapas and a restaurant where visitors can enjoy a daylong outing with the family, relax in the thermal waters, and reconnect with nature.
Jamurca is opened 365 days a year, and during the months from October to May the restaurant and bar service is offered. The rest of the year bring a picnic and dine in the natural surroundings.
How to get there? 
You have to enter by the little town of “La Cuata” located just off the highway 200. Once there follow the inland road 3 miles until you reach Jamurca. “La Cuata” is found on the 69th kilometer of the 200 federal highways Tepic-Puerto Vallarta, just passed “Las Varas”. If you’re driving to the north from Puerto Vallarta’s International Airport it’s approximately 1 hour drive.
For those who enjoy nature, the drive to Jamurca is fascinating. Along the way you are surrounded by virgin tropical jungles, which is especially beautiful in the rainy season. It feels like time here has stopped.
